Edward Arnold Furby, age 77, of Saucier, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Lighthouse in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Eddie was born on January 30, 1948, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to his loving parents, Walton Lee and Ethel Wood Furby. He was a 1966 graduate of Moss Point High School and graduated in 1970 from Mississippi State University. Eddie served his country with honor in the U.S. Army with an assignment to Germany. The family moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania with Alpo in 1989, then to Lincoln, Nebraska where he retired from Nestles-Purina in 2006 and returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the place he always called "home".

Eddie and Doris Cummings shared 40 years together after their marriage on April 4, 1985. He was raised in the Baptist faith and was a devoted family man. He found pleasure in: taking the family on trips, to Germany, on a Disney Wish cruise, and several U.S. destinations, his cooking is something friends and family alike looked forward to on many occasions. Activities that connected him with the great outdoors like hunting, fishing, golfing, and mowing his lawn brought him peace.

Eddie is preceded in death by his father, Walton "Bill" Furby; his beloved mother, Ethel Furby; his infant daughter, Rebecca Suzanne Furby; his son Timothy Shane Furby; and his brother Jerry Furby.

He leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss him. His devoted wife, Doris, his sons, Shea (Sabrina) Furby of Ashville, Ohio; Jason Stone of Catalina Island, California; and Brad Furby, Lincoln, Nebraska, and a forever daughter-in-love, Michelle Furby, Lincoln, Nebraska, two brothers, Allen Taylor and Lee (Teresa) Furby; two sisters, Margie (Craig) Jacobson and Debby (Geoff) Gollotte, seven grandchildren, Briar, Declan, and Scarlett, John (Jordyn) McCave and Mason, Raelynn and Cason; one great-grandchild, Lennon McCave, for 12 years was called pawpaw by Jaxon Slate; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
