Albert Bryant Tanner, Sr., 83, our beloved Father, passed away May 30th, 2015.
Mr. Tanner retired in Clanton, Alabama to be centrally located to be with his family after a 35 year career working for the Air Force as an aircraft inspector in Ft. Worth, Texas. He is best known for his love of motorcycles, passion for learning, storytelling, and his playful nature with his grandchildren and his pets.
He is survived by his brother, Malcolm Tanner of Theodore, and sister, Arleigh Rigby of Mobile, nieces and nephews, his son, Albert B. Tanner, Jr. of Montgomery, AL, daughters: Melanie Tanner Lyons of Birmingham, AL, and Rhonda Tanner Posey of Montgomery, AL. Mr. Tanner was loved and adored by 6 grandchildren, Kristin Posey Motes, Amy Lyons Burke, Keith Posey, Edward Lyons, Jr., Melissa Posey, Tanner Lyons and 4 great-grandchildren, Layla, Lyric, Sydney and Skylar Motes.
Funeral services will be performed by his son-in-law, Pastor John Posey of Community Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 3rd at Tanner's Chapel, 26305 Tanner Chapel Road, Lucedale, MS 39452 with funeral services immediately following at Tanner's Family Cemetery which is adjacent to the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation be made in Albert's name to Community Baptist Church, 3779 Moore Road, Grady, AL 36036 where he was a member.
