Obituary

March 11,1933 - November 14,2023

Alfred Lee "Bill" Williams, 90, departed to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Lynwood Rehabilitation Center in Mobile, AL. He was a resident of Pascagoula, MS for 55 years with his beloved wife Patricia Roark Williams until her passing in 2012. He moved to Dauphin Island, AL in 2022 where he resided with his stepson and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Wanda Fishburn, to get help with declining health.
Bill retired after working for 28 years as Assistant Manager of Jerry Lee's Grocery in Pascagoula. Known as "Mr. Bill" throughout the community, he was loved and respected by so many. After retiring, he became the caretaker of Jackson County Memorial Cemetery for several years.
He loved to decorate every inch of his home for Christmas. "Pat and Bill" opened their home to family and friends bringing joy to all who celebrated holidays with them. Grandchildren and great-grands were at the center of his heart attending their baseball, soccer, and volleyball tournaments, gymnastics events, dance recitals, school events and going to the hunting camp. "Papaw Bill" or "Poppa" was the perfect playmate for them. He loved spending time playing bingo,
being the "villain "while they played superheroes, going to the movies, shows, shopping, eating out and always participating in holiday shenanigans. In healthy years, he bowled, played cards with his Pat and their friends, loved cutting his yard, bargain hunting, and loved watching television, especially wrestling.
He leaves behind 4 children: a stepson and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Wanda Fishburn;
Daughters- Suzanne Wood, Nikki Turner, and daughter and son-in-law Debra and John David Tyler
