Andrew "Drew" Clinton Gilbert, age 23, of Pascagoula, MS passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Pascagoula. He was born in Wharton, TX on January 17, 1990.
Drew was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and target shooting. He loved being on his boat, as it was the one place that gave him solace. Drew was a fun-loving guy with a big heart, and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Drew is preceded in death by his grandfather, Earl C. Gilbert; great grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Kitchens; and uncle, William Earl Gilbert.
He is survived by his father, Robert C. Gilbert of Pascagoula; mother, Mary Beth Sparkman of Pascagoula; sister, Erin (Andrew) Yarger of Ocean Springs; nephew, Jon Taylor Yarger; paternal grandmother, Mildred Gilbert of Pascagoula; and maternal grandparents, W.T. and Daisy Sparkman of Pascagoula; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mike Kelleher as Celebrant.
Chris Gilbert, Scott Gilbert, Brian Gilbert, Casey Gilbert, Andrew Yarger, and Ricky Cain will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery, Moss Point, MS
