Mrs. Annie Lee Crowley Churchwell, 90, of Hurley, MS passed away on December 15, 2021, in Mobile, Alabama. Mrs. Churchwell was born on December 22, 1930, in Florala, Alabama.
Annie Lee was a much-loved person in her community and church. She was a member of the Hurley Baptist Church for 59 years. She lovingly served her church family in many ways throughout the years, singing in the choir, teaching the Women's Sunday School class, working with GA's, and being active in WMU.
Annie Lee was a friend to everybody she met and welcomed anyone and everyone into her home. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. She loved her Lord and her Bible, and she gave generously to various missions from around the world. She loved getting together for family reunions. Her family was her life, and she cherished each and every one of them.
Annie Lee is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Jackson Churchwell, her son Drew Churchwell, her parents Jack and Ruby Lee Crowley, her siblings Andy Payne, Bill Payne, Jackie Brooks, and Betty Aponte.
She is survived by her daughter Tracy (Todd) Harry, her siblings Tommy Payne, Steve (Viv) Payne, Martha (Mark) Ely, and Janet Knight. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Emily Austin, Sean Harry, Josie Harry, Caleb (Stephanie) Churchwell and Jerika (T.C.) Mickens and her great grandchildren Leona, Triston, Haylee, Kelsie, Leigha, and Tiana, and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday December 20,2021, at Hurley Baptist Church, 6810 Hurley Wade Road, Hurley, MS 39555, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am from the church sanctuary with Rev. Lance Sudduth officiating.
