Mrs. Annie Corine Poole was a loving and truly devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Poole was a lifelong resident of the Forts Lake/Franklin Creek community. She was a member of Franklin Creek Baptist Church but also attended services regularly at Forts Lake Assembly of God. Anyone who knew Mrs. Poole knew that she loved people. She always had something good cooked and anyone was welcome at her table. At her house the coffee pot never got cold and the seats were rarely empty. She didn't mind the company though because it gave her a chance to do what she loved to do and did best, serve. She truly had a servant's heart. In her free time liked to sew, garden, and enjoyed listening to the sounds of blue grass gospel music. Her epithet will read "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Mrs. Annie did fight a good fight against Alzheimer's for 14 long years. She was also a breast cancer survivor. In her bible she had penned the words "God is good to me through it all." Though Mrs. Annie was stripped of her memory and, in her last days, the ability to speak I know that she would have still declared that God was good to her through it all. We honor her legacy as a woman of faith, family, virtue, and love. Her life exemplified that of a Proverbs 31 woman. There had never been nor will there ever be a woman as precious and special as Mrs. Annie Poole. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Poole, her parents Rufus and Isabelle Maples, and three siblings Howard Maples, Dora Hamilton, and Evonne Grimes. She survived by her four daughters Marilyn P. (Joe "Jay") Johnson, Doreen Koskela (Mickey), Judy Stork (Terry), and Jerri Ann Cauley (Dempsey); Nine grandchildren Shane Baria (Tonya), Tara Johnson (Dewayne), Darla Koskela Rogers, Matthew Koskela, Adrian Bragg (Travis), Aaron Koskela (Nija), Amanda Walters (Chad), Jeremy Cauley (Jessica), and Jacob Cauley; A host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Nadine Embry, numerous neices and nephews, and special lifetime friends who became family, Allen and Janice Cronier, who she met through her kids and friends. Allen done many special things for "Mrs. Annie" and drank many cups of coffee in her home. He would call and ask Mrs. Annie if he and Janice could come drink a cup of coffee. Of course, she would say "come on" and a cup turned into "pots", and there would be a house of laughter and reminiscing. Allen and Janice were faithful to her and all of her family. Their memories will always be cherished. Also, special friends over the years were Marty and Janet Cooper. Marty has been a friend since Mrs. Annie's kids were teens. Thru the years he always came to see her, and they always reminisced about old times. Those memories will be everlasting. Other special and longtime friends were Ronnie Koskela who was like a son to her, David Cain, and Daryl "Sugarman" Poole. They too loved to visit the Poole home. The Poole home was nothing fancy, but you can rest assure that that old house hosted many good times, lots of love and laughter, tears, no room to sit most of the time, the best meals, and lots of coffee perking. Mrs. Annie has now gained her mansion in Heaven and is now reunited with her beloved Robert.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 1,2020 at the W.R. Clark cemetery in the Forts Lake Community beginning at 2:00 pm with a one hour visitation at the gravesite prior to service time.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic face mask and social distancing will be required at the cemetery.
