Anthony "Tony" Wade Cole, 65 of Waveland, MS, went to be with the Lord above on January 23, 2024. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on July 24, 1958, to the late Harry C. Cole Jr. and Peggy Jean Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, Christina Cole Mann, and uncles, Wayne, Bill, Danny, and Jimmy Cole.
Tony is survived by his only son, Mr. Jared Wade Cole, siblings, Debbie (Barry) Cole Kynerd, of Florence, MS, and Bryan (Kelly) Paul Phillips of Raymond, MS, aunt, Linda (David) Jenkins, of Greenwood, MS, nieces, Sydney and Darby Phillips, nephews Cole Kynerd, Wyatt Phillips, and Chris Mann, great-niece, Camryn Sage Kynerd, and may other loving family members and close friends.
He graduated from Pascagoula High School, class of 1976, where he played as a member of the Pascagoula Panthers Football Team. He also received a Bachelor of Education degree from Delta State University.
Tony was a former teacher and football coach in the Pascagoula area. He was a 20+ year retiree from Coastal Cargo.
He will be remembered for being a private person, but also a family historian, who never forgot that many colorful stories of his past that he was always eager to share. Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching classic Western television and movies and was an avid football fan.
Tony will be missed by all that knew him, he was a loving, proud, and father to his only son, Jared. He loved his family very much.
A visitation will be held Friday, 1/26/2024 from 2-3pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home located at, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS 39563. A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation.
