Barbara Marie Easley, age 85, of Moss Point, MS died at Truwood Assisted Living and Personal Care Home in Ocean Springs, MS on December 5,2022. She was born on June 27,1937 in Tylertown, MS, and was a resident of Moss Point since age 6. Barbara was a graduate of Moss Point High School Class of 1955.She served her country with pride and dedication with the United States Marine Corps for 7 years and was a SGT E-5 at the time of her discharge. She retired from International Paper Company with 31 years of service. Barbara was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer until her health declined. Her favorite was calling bingo. She was co-owner of Feminine Touch for 18 years until its closure in 2007.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Jeanette Easley, sister Dolores (Griffin) Beasey, life companion Lynne M. Ivey.
She is survived by her sister Tenny Henderson, nieces Jeanne (Jerry) Whistle, Kristi (Tommy) Green, Michelle (Mike) McFerrin Babs Childress Logan, nephews Mac (Andi) Thorpe, Joe (Donna) Griffin, numerous great nieces, nephews. She will be also missed by her special friends Geno Flechas, Mary Ellen Allen, Duncan and Elaina May, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday December 8,2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church 4114 First Street Moss Point, MS 39563. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary with Father Varghese officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula, MS.
Pallbearers will be Mike McFerrin, Tommy Green, Adam Trahan, Thomas Wallace, Zack Mixon, and Colton Hackett.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara's requests donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church P.O. Box 8549 Moss Point, MS 39563 or any other charities in her memory.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Truwood Assisted Living and Personal Care and to Notre Dame Hospice for their care and compassion to Barbara during her illness.
