Barbara "Bobbie" Ellzey, 73, of Big Point, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was born in Pascagoula, on April 28, 1950, to Clifford Norril Johnson and Rena Mae Laine Johnson.
Bobbie was a loving mother and grandmother, and her great-grandchildren provided her with endless hours of entertainment and joy. She was a wonderful listener and confidant to family and friends. She retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 37 years of service as an analyst.
Some favorite times were shared with her friends at "Sassy's" talking and drinking coffee. She loved to garden and enjoyed sharing her flower cuttings with anyone who showed interest. Bobbie loved cruises. She traveled extensively with her good friend, Becky Galle. She entertained, told stories, cooked, and ensured everyone was well-fed. Bobbie shared her love through food. She enjoyed countless hours sitting on her porch and admiring the family she had worked so hard to build.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Norril and Rena Mae Johnson, and one sister, Norilyn Cumbest.
Survivors include: Her children, Donald (Angie) Ellzey, and Stacy Ellzey Westfaul. Grandchildren, Dylan (Georgia Kate) Emerson, Morgan (Terrell) McAdams, and Chris (Samantha) Riser. Great-grandchildren, Addilyn, Wade, and Brooks Emerson, Kian McAdams, Rowen, Rosalie, and Ransom Riser. Siblings, Douglas Johnson, Joe C. Johnson, and Rhonda Harris. Special friend and traveling partner, Becky Galle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS 39563 The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Les Pierce officiating. Serving as pallbearers: James Chipley, Scott Craig, Chad Thompson, Tony Davis, Jack Rowan, and Derkye Cumbest. The burial will be at Johnson's Cemetery Hwy 63 in Wade, Mississippi.
