Betty Carolyn Garner Quinn, age 79, passed away on February 17th, 2026. Born to John C. and Mae Neal Garner on July 1st, 1946, in New Hebron, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Harold B. Quinn. She is survived by her children: Jeffrey Quinn of Washington, Lisa (Tim) Brown of Hurley, Amy Quinn of Pascagoula; brother John C. (Diane) Garner of Louisville. Grandchildren: Alex Mueler, Caitlin Quinn, Lane (Savannah) Brown, and Lauren Brown also nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty graduated from New Hebron High School, Copiah Lincoln Jr. College and the University of Southern Mississippi. She earned a degree in Elementary Education and taught first grade in the Pascagoula-Gautier school system for 38 years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa where she was honored as sister of the year. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula for over 50 years where she taught Sunday School in the children's department. She was active in women's missions and the prison ministry. She was a life member of Jackson County Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Friends of the Library in Pascagoula. She was a member of Singing River Hospital Auxiliary for over 30 years where she served as President, Candy Striper/Jr.
Medic leader and Scholarship Chairman. She was also honored as volunteer of the year.
Services for Betty will be held in the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, Ms 39563, on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m, followed by services at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at New Hebron Cemetery in New Hebron, MS on February 23, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to First Baptist Church, 1902 Live Oak, Pascagoula, Ms.
