Carlos Albert Raez, 55, died Friday, August 27, 2021 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS, following a brief illness.

He leaves his two daughters, Jennifer and Carole Ann and his four grandchildren Kyleigh, Lydia, Madeline, and Asa. He is survived by seven sisters and brothers, 14 nieces and nephews, several cousins, other relatives and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Jaime and Julia Raez.

Born in Lima, Peru, he was a longtime resident of both Gautier and Pascagoula, MS. In his early years, Carlos worked as a service technician for the Pascagoula School System, an electrician for Ingalls Shipbuilding Corporation, and the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center. Pursuing his lifelong dream of owning a ranch, he travelled to Colorado where he briefly worked at Ameristar Casino before returning to Mississippi to care for his family. During his free time, he enjoyed working on cars, playing guitar, roller skating, and spending time with his grandchildren. Carlos always had a fondness for animals, and throughout the years had many pet dogs and even a trained coypu.

His children and family remember him as a kind, mild-mannered, and humble man who was always willing to help in any way he could. He encouraged his daughters to pursue their goals and always be on the side of right.

Memorial services will be held at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula, MS on Wednesday September 1st 2021 at 10 AM.
