Obituary

Carroll Oris Rockwell, 82, of Wade, MS, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday morning, April 12,2020 with Tammy and Sharri by his side. He was born on February 11,1938. He was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 33 plus years until he had to medically retire.

Carrol was a devoted husband, Daddy, Pop and Great Pop. He never met a stranger and was an inspiration and mentor to many. He was a quiet man with a quick wit, and loved to joke with people. Carroll adored his family. He loved traveling, especially in the mountains where he spent much quality time with his family in Highlands, NC, their favorite getaway. He was 32nd degree Mason.

Carroll is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 56 years of marriage, Annell Cumbest Rockwell. His parents, Florrie and Joseph F Rockwell. Mother and father in law, Bessie and George Cumbest. His sisters and brothers in law, Bernard (Merle) Cumbest,
Ralph (Chestine) Cumbest, Ducy (James) Miles and Frank Ingram.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Tammy (Jesse) Lacy and Sharri(Kelvin) Dykes. His grandsons Austin (Ashly) Dykes, Adam Dykes, Jess Lacy and Jarrod Dykes. His great grandchildren Ava Dykes, Carter, Caleb and Case Dykes. His brother Joseph E (Esther) Rockwell and sister in law Marie Cumbest Ingram. Also his nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his Gals at Amelia's Garden. Special thanks to Pastor Mark, Jim and Daniel of Deaconness Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Kelvin Dykes, Chadd Cumbest, Austin Dykes, Jess Lacy, Jarrod Dykes and Carter, Caleb and Case Dykes.
Honorary pallbearer Harvey Cumbest.

Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, the family will have a private graveside service at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Kevin Trantham officiating.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS is in charge of arrangements.
