Obituary

On June 6th, 2024, Cheryl Dobbs Pittman, went to be with the Lord, following her battle with cancer.

She was born in Pascagoula, MS on February 24th, 1958. She graduated from East Central High School in 1976. She married the love of her life, Edward Pittman, Jr., in July of 1981.

She was a caring, loving, and supportive mother to her children. She was also the most amazing "Gam" to her grandchildren.

She was always thinking of others and keeping them in her prayers. She was famous for sending cards, texts, phone calls, etc., on birthdays or other occasions. She had such a way of making people feel truly seen, and showing God's love the whole time.

She worked many years at East Central Schools, and she touched so many lives during that time. She kept lunch money handy for children that forgot. She added so many to her prayer list, and continued to show God's love, there as well.

She loved the simple things in life, she was ecstatic to go fishing, to ride around with the windows down, with no plans in mind, and going down to the beach any chance she got. She loved her church family at Ridglea Heights dearly.

She is preceded in death by her father Robert Dobbs, Sr., and her mother Burna Lee Dobbs, and her brother Robert "Doug" Dobbs.

She is also preceded by the love of her life, and husband of "42 Wonderful Years", Edward Pittman Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Kendall Pittman-Anderson, and her son Logan Pittman. Her grandchildren, Collin and Conner Anderson, sister, Judy (Edgar) Pittman, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is also survived by her best friend, and Aunt, Linda Dobbs.

The family would like to extend a huge thanks to Hospice of Light, especially Lisa and Johnese, who have forever touched our lives and became like family to us.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Cheryl at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church. Friday, June 14th, visitation will begin at 1pm, and the service will begin at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, in honor or Judy and Edgars's grandson.
