Christy Paxton Thompson gained her angel wings Sunday, January 23, 2022, soon after her 50th birthday.
Born December 29, 1971, in Columbia South Carolina to Larry Kaney and Gail Oglesby. She loved living near the Ocean, her collection of Boyd's Bears, and her faithful fur baby CoCo. She always had a smile on her face no matter how hard the next mountain was in front of her (for her climb). She loved the South Carolina Gamecocks. Christy fought a long hard battle with breast cancer for the past 7 years.
She is survived by her husband and soul mate Joey Thompson. Her children are Madison Paxton (Shaun), Seth Paxton (Katherine). Her grandchild Brennan Paxton. Her parents Kenneth and Kay Hicks. Her sisters are Pam (Donnie) Nevin, Fran (Lee) Wilson, and Rebekah Corley. Nieces and Nephews, Tyler Nevin, Kacey (Austin) Weekley, Morgan (Jeff) Allday, Ethan Wilson, Evynn Wilson (Austin). Her father and mother- in- Law Benny and Joyce Thompson. Brothers-in-law, BJ Thompson and Lance (Julie) Thompson. Along with extended family in South Carolina and Tennessee.
Christy wanted a celebration of life when this time came. No tears, just memories. We will be planning in the future.
