Clara Yvonne Dennis Johnson, 85 of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed from this life at 7:20 a.m. October 25, 2021, at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
She was born on October 22, 1936, in Washington County, Mississippi, to Alvin C. Dennis and Nellie Parden Dennis.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas E. Johnson, one son, Pete James, her grandson, Jessie James, four sisters, Rebecca Hutton, Lillie Pierce, Minnie Johnson, and Nell Rosalis. Two brothers, Joel T. Dennis, and Charles C. Dennis.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Byrd, one brother, Alvin C. Dennis, Jr., her 4 grandchildren, Charles McLemore, Joshua McLemore, Dustin James, and Raven James, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, from 10:30 until 11:00 a.m. for the family and 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. for friends. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Parmer officiating. Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be, Wayne Dennis, Charles McLemore, Robert Ehlers, Darryl Dennis, Duane Dennis, and Willie Johnson. The honorary pallbearer will be Darlene Dennis Ehlers.
