Cleo Patra McCollum, aged 96, of Pascagoula, Mississippi, was born on June 30, 1928, in Morton, MS, has left this world to join her heavenly Father on September 3, 2024, on what would have been her 75th wedding anniversary, surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Lewis Irby and Letha Sumrall Irby; her devoted husband, R.L. (Mac) McCollum; sisters: Estelle Irby Boxx, Lannie Irby Kimble and Carolyn Irby Boyd, brothers: Amos Marbo Irby, and Thomas Marlon Irby.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Janet) McCollum and Beverly (Richard) Reynolds. Cleo's legacy lives on through her six grandchildren: Chad (Tammy) McCollum, Kelly (Brad) Kees, Kimberly (Michael) LeBlanc, Wesley Reynolds, Katie McCollum, and Brandon (Jamie) Reynolds. She also leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren: Luke McCollum, Morgan (Ryne) Long, Emily McCollum, Camryn LeBlanc, Candace Ladnier, Alainah Green, Adyson LeBlanc, Abigail Kees, Natalie Kees, Talan Ardoin, Landen Hamilton, Liam Reynolds, and Noah Reynolds, as well as five great-great-grandchildren: Lane McCollum, Mantle Long, Paisley Anderson, Grady Long, and Tucker Smith with many more relatives and friends that will remember her always.
A cherished member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Cleo was known for her passion for cooking, canning jellies, and gardening. Her deep love for her family and faith was evident in all she did, and she particularly cherished spending time with loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Holder Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS 39563. The funeral service will follow, officiated by Brother Jerry Reed and Brother Jerry Knight. Mrs. Mona Reed will offer a comforting song of praise in honor of Cleo. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chad McCollum, Wesley Reynolds, Brandon Reynolds, Michael LeBlanc, Talan Ardoin, and A.J. Smith.
