Curtis Eugene Miller, Jr, age 72, of Moss Point, died Monday, February 17, 2020, at Singing River Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1947, in Moss Point, a son of Curtis E. Miller and Janice Dahlgren Miller Lucas, both deceased.
Curtis attended Moss Point High School and spent most of his life in Jackson County. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2013 and spent the last 6 years of his life in Singing River Health and Rehabilitation Center, Moss Point. When he first became a patient there he loved to tell people that it used to be the old hospital and he'd been born there, he found that funny. As devastating as Alzheimer's can be, he was almost always in good spirits and contented. He loved to eat and looked forward to every meal and recognized his family members to the very end.
He is survived by three children, Toye Michelle Miller and Paul E. Miller (mother April Ladnier Shephard) and Joseph Brandon Miller (mother Ruby Cartwright Jarrell), five grandchildren with another one on the way and six great-grandchildren. Curtis is also survived by his brothers, Michael C. Miller (wife Michelle) and Gary D. Miller.
Curtis requested that no service or ceremony be held after his death. He chose the epitaph "Now I'm Happy". His cremains will be interred in the columbarium at Serene Memorial Gardens, Hwy 613, Moss Point.
Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
