With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Cynthia Ellen Wolverton, who left us at the age of 73 on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Diversicare of Moss Point in Mississippi.
Cynthia was born on October 1, 1951, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to loving parents James and Rose Long. She was blessed to marry her soulmate, Otis Dwain Wolverton. Cynthia found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from taking scenic drives along the beach to enjoying her favorite show, "The Golden Girls." Her spirit sparkled in her love for Bingo, dancing, laughing, and pampering herself with painted nails. Above all, she embraced life wholeheartedly and cherished everyone who was fortunate enough to be in it.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Otis; her loving parents, Rose and James Curtis Long; and her dear brothers, Ronnie Long, Kevin Long, and Curtis Long.
She is lovingly remembered by her four sons: Terry Lamar Wolverton (Jenevieve Parker) and Jason Wayne Wolverton; her godsons, Clarence Crear Jr. and Timothy Crear; and her cherished grandchildren, Brad Mobley and Kaiden Parker. Cynthia's family also includes her brother, Casey Long; her aunt, Judy Turner; her brother-in-law, Ricky Wolverton; and her sister-in-law, Mamie Layfield, all of whom will feel her absence deeply.
A visitation in her honor will take place on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Holder Wells Funeral Home, located at 4007 Main Street in Moss Point, MS. The service will follow at 2:00 PM at Holder Wells Main Street Chapel, led by Minister Clarence Crear. In this time of sorrow, may we all find comfort in the memories we hold dear of Cynthia and the love she shared with us.
