Obituary

David Ray Broom passed from this life on February 2, 2020 at his home in Grand Bay, Alabama.
His life began on March 29, 1974. David loved life's adventures and anything fast or a bit
challenging. The secret twinkle in his eyes revealed his mischievousness. He relished telling jokes
and pulling pranks on his family and friends. His smile and laughter were contagious. Before David's motorcycle accident in October 2011, he loved to surf, winter and summer. The bigger the waves,
the more he enjoyed it. In the past two years he enjoyed other sports such as basketball and bowling.
David's children also enjoyed various sports in which he coached them. His love of music crossed all
genres. David was employed at various jobs throughout his life, but where he worked never defined him.
He retired in September 2018 due to medial complications. David attended Faith Baptist Church in Grand Bay, Alabama for many years where he taught Sunday school and was the music technician. A bright light has gone out.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Syble "Nanny" and Robert "Popa" Spicer, and
Alfred and Leah Arceneaux, grandparents Eutaska "Tac" (Andy) Tew, and Donald (Freda) Arceneaux,
and paternal grandparents Clemoth "Tom" and Emily Broom.

David is survived by his children, Joseph Broom, Daniel Broom, and Anna Broom, their mother, Angie Baucum Broom, parents Ray and Elaine (Arceneaux) Broom, sister Lara Broom Fisher, nephews Kyle Wescovich and Ethan Wescovich, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
