David Graham Peattie Jr. 87, of Pascagoula, MS passed away on December 17,2022. He was born to the late David and Patricia Peattie on December 14,1935 in New York, New York.
Mr. Peattie was a loving husband to the late Barbara Jean Peattie. Although they met in late in life, they created a lifetime of memories in 20 years. They traveled to all 50 States, Canada and Mexico in the first five years of their marriage.
Dave and Barbara spent many hours volunteering with the Elks and the Krewe of Tri-Cities Carnival organization.
Dave was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E.#1120 Elks Lodge in Pascagoula. He served as ENF Chairman for many years and spent countless hours volunteering with veterans and many other lodge activities. He was a friend to all he met.
After graduating from Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg Florida, Dave joined the United States Navy, where he traveled the world, serving for 20 years and retiring as a Petty Officer Machinist Mate First Class. After retiring from the Navy, he went to work for Ingalls Shipbuilding and retired after 25 years as a Machinery Inspector.
Dave was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Peattie, his son Robert A. Nix, his daughter-in-law Stacy Mhoon Nix, his twin sister Carol (J.S.) Sanford, sisters Sandy Peattie and Mary Pat (John) Wells.
He is survived by his two sons Lon Dudley Nix and Patrick (Angela) Nix, his niece Kathy Sanford Hoffman. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Jordan, Ashley, Patrick, Robert, Christopher and Tori, and his great nephew Ross Hoffman. Along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday December 22,2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS 39563. The funeral service with Elks Funeral Rites will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Serene Gardens cemetery 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562.
