Dewey Lawrence Booth, affectionately known as "Lil Larry," passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 74, and now rests in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his sister, Rita (Henry) Womble; his daughter, Nicole (Greg Fortenberry) Byram; as well as his beloved grandchildren: Keith (Jordan) Byram, Brynlee Fortenberry, Kyzer Warren, and his great-grandson, Milo Byram.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Delores Booth.
Born on June 9, 1950, in Jackson, Mississippi, Dewey graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1969. He dedicated many years to the family-owned Larry Service Station before transitioning to work in the sporting goods department in Pascagoula, from which he eventually retired. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, spending much of his time in nature's embrace.
Graveside services to celebrate Dewey's life will be held at Griffin Cemetery, located off Dantzler Street, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Steve Cirlot officiating.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dewey's caregivers, Falicia McLaughlin and Jeanetta Hawkins of Pro Health Home Hospice, for the exceptional care and compassion they provided.
