On Monday, November 30,2020, Don Warren Church, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 61.
Don was born on December 14,1958 in Madison Wisconsin. He moved to Moss Point, MS in 1978 to work for Ingalls Shipyard. He was faithfully employed there until his retirement in2019. During this time, he also served his community as the assistant Chief of the Jackson County Sheriff's Reserve. He is a Past Master of the F&AM Masonic Lodge# 202 of Moss Point, Past Patron of the Annie O'Neill Chapter #37 Order of the Eastern Star, S.R. Chapter, Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #394 of Ocean Springs, Royal and Commander Council Knights Bodies York Right.
Dons faith played an important role in his life and he was a devoted and active member of Vancleave First Baptist Church in Vancleave, MS.
Family was the most important part of Don's life. He married his loving wife Peggy on December 10,1988. Together they raised a blended family of three sons and a daughter. He was extremely proud of his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. Fishing and camping trips will be cherished memories for his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Ola Mae Church. He is survived by his wife Peggy of Vancleave, MS, his former wife Rena'e Taylor of Seminole, AL, daughter Brooke Fontenelle (Larry) of Biloxi, MS, son Scott Church (Amy) of Destin, FL, son Jack Woods (Michelle) of Gautier, MS, son Jeff Woods (Alicia) of Vancleave, MS, grandchildren Carissa Mitchell (Thomas), Bryce Woods, Logan Fontenelle, Asher Woods, Adelyn Fontenelle, Jillian Woods, and great grandchildren Zachary and Bradley Mitchell.
A visitation will be held on Friday December 4,2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Vancleave First Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am from the church sanctuary with Rev. Randy McKee officiating. Entombment will follow at Crestlawn cemetery in Ocean Springs with masonic graveside rites. Pallbearers will be Scott Holden, Jeff Woods, Jack Woods, Larry Fontenelle, Scott Markham and Billy Fairley.
