Donald "Donnie" Gary Shelton. Age 65, of Hurley, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, in Ocean Springs. He was born on November 18, 1953, in Jackson, MS, to Charles F. and Ruth Bridges Shelton. Donnie was a longtime Joiner for Ingalls Shipbuilding. He retired in August of 2016. Donnie was also an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Fontenot and husband Shannon of Louisiana; brother, Charles A. Shelton and wife Judy of Hurley; sister, Diane Spicer and husband Howard of Escatawpa; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, Shelton Lee Fontenot, Jr.; and his best friend, Robert Webb. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robin Shelton. The family will receive friends starting at 10 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019, with funeral services immediately follow starting at 11 AM, in the Chapel of Coastal Funeral Home in Moss Point, with Cindy Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens, next to the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Ochsner Cancer Center in New Orleans in memory of Donald G. Shelton.
