Dorothy C Brister, 91, of Pascagoula, MS passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 26, 2024.

Dorothy was born July 25, 1932 in Cicero, NY, she moved to the coast at a young age where she resided the remainder of her life. Dorothy was a life long and devout member of the Community of Christ Church. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and Grand(Great)mother, she dedicated her life to being the person who genuinely cared for the people that she loved. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, spending time with her family and friends, and having cookouts at her family/friends homes. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband James O Brister, parents Emanuel and Ethel Careno,brother Charles (Vivian) Careno Sr, and daughter in law Rebecca "Becky" Brister. Survivors include daughter Sandra (Ronnie "Stickman") Phillips, son James "Randy" Brister, grandchildren Kristen Phillips, Jamie (Brett) Rogers, Wesley (Holly) Hall, great grandchildren McKnzie Ladner, Marli Abbey, Corbin, Grayson,and Braxton Hall, one Great great grandchild, a dear friend Bobby Barlow, and Charlotte Adcock a devoted niece, along and with numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be officiated by Elder Carla Castorina assisted by Priest Bridgette Brown. Wesley Hall, Grayson Hall, Brett Rogers, Charles Careno Jr., Larry Barlow, and Rick Barlow serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Lisa, Katrina, and Tedra with Hospice of Light for their loving and caring support during this time.
