Dorothy Jeanette Bishop Hammond, 42 of Big Point, passed from this life on Sunday, December 6, 2015 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born January 21, 1973 in Jackson. Family and friends were Dorothy's passion and delight. She never complained, maintaining a cheerful outlook of an optimistic future even through tough years. She continued to raise her three children and proudly be involved in their lives as they closed in on adulthood and was blessed with one grandchild that she loved dearly. Dorothy enjoyed music and was always laughing and singing. Guns & Roses was her favorite band. Her signature gift of joy shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking around will never be forgotten. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Malcom D. Bishop and Hazel Annette Booth Lofton; maternal grandparents, Robert Lyman and Laura Joe Booth; and paternal grandparents, Albert "Buddy" and Elsie Russell. She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Anthony "Tony" Hammond; son, Christopher Lavell Hammond; daughters, Samantha Annette Hammond and Emily Deeann Hammond; grandson, Myles "Boogie" Hammond; step-mother, Tish Bishop; sisters, Karrie Jolly and husband Jonathon, Amanda Christine Moody and husband, Kenny and Catherine Elise Bishop; brother, Malcom Davis Bishop and wife Tasha; and numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Coastal Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev.
