Mrs. Dorothy Mae Morrow, 89, of Moss Point, MS, passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. She was born to the late Van and Polly Ann Poole on May 23, 1935, in Neshoba County, MS.
She is preceded in death by her son; Wayne Morrow, siblings; Clayton Poole, Charlie Poole, Hershal Poole, Clarence Poole, Tommy Poole, Lucille Childs, Audrey Ward, and Judy Wilkerson, greatgrandchildren; Jamie Dunn, and Amelia Dickson.
Mrs. Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Mr. Lonnie Morrow, children; Linda (Gary) Cochran, Ronnie (Roz) Morrow, Daniel Morrow, Darrell (Carolyn) Morrow, grandchildren; Kim Shoemaker, Keith Cochran, Lonna (David) Giannotti, Lonnie Morrow, Ashley (Ralph) Gildersleeve, Christopher (Lindsay) Morrow, Nicholas (Shelby) Morrow, Jeffrey (Stephani) Morrow, Hailey (Stephen) Greer, Dalton (Allyson) Morrow, and Samantha Dickson; 32 greatgrandchildren, 10 great-greatgrandchildren, and a host of other close family and friends who will truly miss her loving spirit.
She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord with all her heart. She took great pride in her yard work, from weeding to pruning back the shrubs, she could do it all. Everyone that knew her, knew of her love, especially her family. "She was the best Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother" is often how she was described. She was a true joy and inspiration to all who knew her. She was a long-time member of Midway Baptist Church, where she served as secretary for many years. Dorothy also served her community for over 30 years by donating her time to Singing River Hospitals Auxiliary.
A visitation will be held at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS 39563 on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the funeral home, with the committal service to follow at Serene Memorial Gardens, located at 12800 Highway 613, Moss Point, MS 39562.
Pallbearers will include Keith Cochran, David Giannotti, Christopher Morrow, Jeffrey Morrow, Dalton Morrow, Jonathan Dunn, Trey Wright, and Jaxin Parker.
