It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Edith Jan McKelvain, also known as Edith Jan Guy (maiden name), at the age of 67. She left us peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at her home in Moss Point, Mississippi.
Edith was born on November 1, 1957, in Louisiana, to loving parents Burleigh and Billie Ruth Guy. She found joy in her marriage to William Louis McKelvain, who was truly the love of her life. As a devoted homemaker, Edith poured her heart into nurturing her family. She was known for her delightful homemade Christmas candy and had a passion for cooking, spending time at the beach, shopping, and enjoying time on the boat and the river. A true coffee lover, she delighted in exploring new places and making lasting memories with her family and grandchildren.
Edith is survived by her beloved husband, William Louis McKelvain, of Moss Point, MS; her two cherished daughters, Ashley Crane (Brance) and Amber Dickinson (Dallas), both of Moss Point, MS; and her three adoring grandchildren, Taelyn Vice, Lennox Crane, and Lawson Crane, all of Moss Point, MS. She also leaves behind her two siblings, Kenneth Guy (Sheryl) of Vivian, LA, and Kimberly Zera (Joe) of Luling, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Burleigh and Billie Ruth Guy, and her dear brother, Lynn Guy.
A visitation in her honor will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Holder Wells Coastal Funeral Home, located at 12800 Hwy 613, Moss Point, MS 39563. The service will follow, officiated by Bro. Guy Odom, with burial to take place at Serene Memorial Garden Cemetery. Our thoughts and prayers are with Edith's family during this profoundly difficult time.
