Mrs. Edna Doshea Whatley, age 49, of Pascagoula went to be the Lord on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Ocean Springs Hospital surrounded by family. She was born September 19, 1962 to R.L. & Iva Sasser. Mrs. Whatley was a lifelong resident of Pascagoula and a retired nurse. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Whatley was preceded in death by her father; husband, Manuel O. Whatley; and son Shannon Hurley De Cuir.
She is survived by her mother; daughter Crystal (Bubba) Chandler; son, Joey Whatley; aunt, Dolly Page whom she considered a second mother; step daughter, Barbara G. Whatley; step son Brian Murrah; brother, Nathan (Gail) Sasser; mother in law, Thelma Whatley; 5 grandchildren, Bobby & Shannon Chandler, Declan & Blaine Whatley, and Brandon Murrah; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Whatley will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Holder-Wells Funeral Home of Moss Point. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating.
Interment will be in Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula, MS
Pallbearers will be Joey Whatley, Bubba Chandler, Todd Northrop, Kenneth Brewer, Andrew Newman, and Matthew Merrill. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Chandler.
