Edward E. Cunningham, age 87, of Moss Point, MS., passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2025, at his home in Escatawpa, MS. He was a member of Eastside Assembly of God.
Ed was born April 13th, 1938, to the late Morris E Cunningham and Minerva C Holland Cunningham. He served two years in the Army, where he was stationed in Germany. After returning home, he began A lifelong career as a tugboat engineer. This took him to many foreign countries. He and his faithful wife, Betty, lived many years in England while he worked in the North Sea. He loved gardening and cooking. Of which he was great at. He also loves sports, especially the Braves baseball team.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Betty Rose Mizell Cunningham. Five Sisters. Francis Thibodeaux. Cynthia Bernard, Priscilla Austin, Martha Sylvera, Dorothy Holder, and one brother, William Cecil Cunningham. Left to cherish his memory are his sister and brother-in-law, Addis and Charlie Weaver, along with numerous nieces and nephews. They all loved their Uncle Ed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS 39563. Funeral services will follow in the chapel, beginning at 1:00 PM with Reverend Wendell E. Stork, Reverend Michael Pierce, and Bro. Brian Stork officiating. Interment will be held at Four Mile Creek Cemetery in Escatawpa. Pallbearers will be his nephews: Gordon Robertson, David Woods, Morris Cunningham, Joseph T. Richard Jr., Bryce Weaver, and Dalston Weaver.
We want to extend a special thanks to our church family at Eastside Assembly of God for the continued prayer and kindness shown to us over the past three months. Also, to Deaconess Hospice, who treated Ed with such care and respect. It was a pleasure to have them in our home.
