Edwin Calvin "Ed" Lynn was born in Moss Point, MS on January 8, 1932. He entered the gates of Heaven on October 2, 2020. He was a member of Pine Lake Baptist Church and loved fellowshipping with his Church Family.
After serving in the US Navy during the Korean War, he was honorably discharged as Petty Officer Second Class.
He retired from International Paper after 40 years of service. Having a passion for fishing, Ed was a lifetime member of the Dog River Bass Masters Club. He enjoyed spending time on his houseboat on the Pascagoula River and entertaining his family and friends with an annual fish fry.
When not fishing, he could be found working in his vegetable garden and flower beds. He was widely known for his hand tied "Popping Bugs," and he was famous for his "Go-Gitter". Ed was a teller of tales, an avid reader and was even featured as a character in Roland Harper's book, "Dirty Tales by the Dozen." A jack of all trades, Ed's creative thinking resulted in multiple shenanigans and inventions. Loved by many, Ed's family and friendships meant a great deal to him.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loyal friend. The many loved ones in his life find comfort in knowing that he is happily fishing and tending to the Lord's garden in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Mr. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents William Grover and Ona Lee Lynn, his siblings Harold Lynn, Frank D. Lynn Sr.,Emery Lewis Lynn,Burt Carl Lynn, Allison Shoemock, Beatrice Baxter.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Opal Hillman Lynn; Two daughters , Dederia (Robert) Demouey, Karen (Bob) Krebs ; One son, Scott (Jill) Lynn. Five Grandchildren, Dustin (Dylan) Demouey, Sean (Emily) Demouey, Lauren (Chris) Lane, Brittany (Richard) Hoffman, Brandon Barksdale; 11 great grandchildren, Seth Demouey, Ellie Demouey, Parker Demouey , Tyler Demouey, Aubrey Lane, Chasin Lane, Hannah Lane, Ayden Andrews, Grayson Allie, Gabby Hoffman, and Hadley Hoffman. He is also survived by his brothers Bobby Ray Lynn, and Gerald Leon Lynn and his sister Brenda Summerlin, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Tuesday October 6,2020 from 10: 00 am to 12:00 pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main Street Moss Point, Mississippi 39563. The funeral service celebrating his life will begin 12:00 pm from the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point, MS with military rite conducted by the United States Navy.
