On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, Ellen Beatrice Kingsley Moore, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed from this life to her heavenly home at the age of 89.
Ellen, lovingly known as "Pete", was born on May 29, 1930 in Panama City, FL to George Kingsley and Joyce Moses. She graduated from Bay County High School in 1945. Then on January 13, 1950, she married the love of her life Gerald Wallace Moore Sr. and from there they raised four beautiful children Gerald, Becky, Mel and Leigh Anne.
Pete had a passion for family and spent her life dedicated to hers. She lived to love and serve her family, from team/room mom that was always volunteering for bake sales and other activities to always being there to listen and support anyone who needed it. She loved cooking huge family dinners and having everyone over to enjoy it together. From Friday night seafood dinners to Sunday family lunches and every holiday in between she made sure her family was well fed! She was a kind soul and never had a negative word to say about anything. If you knew her, you loved her. She was an avid bowler and thoroughly enjoyed bowling with her team "Pete's Pin Pals". She loved the Atlanta Braves and was thrilled to get to take a trip to see them with her beloved husband and her brothers/sisters in law.
She was preceded in death by her parents George Kingsley and Joyce Moses, husband Gerald Wallace Moore Sr, son Gerald Wallace Moore Jr, sister Verna LaGore, and brothers Buddy and Zeff Kingsley.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Becky (Carey) Goff, Mel (Michelle Cannette) Moore, and Leigh Anne (Mike) Goff; her grandchildren April (Chuck) Boris, Meagan Goff, Jessie (David) Moore, Toni Moore, Cliff Goff, Brent Goff, Noel Goff, Lanell (David) Hansen, Wesley (Kirsten Payne) Moore, Michelle Moore, and Sheri Moore; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family friends.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic a private visitation will be held at Holder-Wells Funeral 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS 39563 on Friday May 1, 2020. A private graveside will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park 4710 Ingalls Pascagoula, MS 39581
Graveside Services will follow at 2:30pm at Jackson County Memorial Park 4710 Ingalls Ave., Pascagoula, MS 39581. We do ask that those in attendance practice social distancing. Pall Bearers will be Chuck Boris, Cameron Boris, Cliff Goff, Brent Goff, Noel Goff, and Wesley Moore.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the owners and staff at Sparrow Hill Personal Care Home for the exceptional care provided to our mother over this last year. The love and kindness you have shown to not only her but us as well has not gone unnoticed. You all hold a special place in our hearts!
