Eloyse Lott Pouncey 92, of Gautier, Mississippi passed away peacefully in her home on December 21, 2021 in Gautier. Mrs. Pouncey was born on April 7, 1929 in Marion County, Mississippi.
She was an active and dedicated member of Gautier First Baptist Church. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She also participated in numerous state and national chicken and catfish cook off over the years. Her life revolved around her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years John Peter Pouncey, her son Ronny Pouncey, her great-grandson Jaxon Eli Schoenberger, her parents Winnie and Chellie Lott, and her brothers L.J. Lott and Issac Nathan Lott.
Mrs. Pouncey is survived by her son Keith (Paula) Pouncey her daughter-in-law Carla Pouncey, her grandchildren John Robert Pouncey, Salena (Tyler) Schoenberger, Jill (Chance) Roberson, and Summer (Wes) Dunn, and her great-grandchildren Beckett Roberson, Blayne Roberson, Owen Schoenberger, and Warren Dunn. She is also survived by her sisters Gerolene Rayborn, Ruth Lofton and Genevie Collins. Other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 10:am to 11:00 am at the Gautier First Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 11:00 am from the church sanctuary with Rev. David Aultman officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest cemetery in Gautier.
Pallbearers will be John Robert Pouncey, Tyler Schoenberger, Chance Roberson, Wes Dunn, Greg Rayborn and Kermit Rayborn.
