Mrs.Elsie Marie Stewart 76, of Helena, MS born April 17,1945 Walthall County, MS passed away on June 25,2021 in Pascagoula, MS. Mrs. Stewart lived in Jackson County for most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband George " Mickey" Stewart, her sons Andrew "Andy" Mixon, Mark "Marty" Stewart, her parents Charlie and Audell Coon, her sisters Delores Coon Beyers, Viola Coon Thornhill, and her brother Billy Dan Coon.
She is survived by her son Mike Matienzo, her sisters and brother-in-laws Mary Brumfield, Linda Ladnier, Jane (Jimmy) Johnson, Peggy (Dub) Johnson. Her sister-in-law Dana Coon. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren Jeremy Matienzo, Justin Chandler, Daniel Brown along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family would like to thank Marie's caregiver and friend Yolanda Lewis for her love and compassion during Marie's illness.
Visitation will be Thursday July 1,2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Holder-Wells Coastal Funeral Home 12800 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562. The funeral will begin at 11:00 am from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rodney Coleman officating. Burial will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens cemetery in Moss Point.
