It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emmett Louis Alexander, who left us on November 19, 2025. Emmett was born to Emmett and Vivian Alexander and was a beloved father to Marilyn, Anita, and Elizabeth, all of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Joanne McManus Alexander, and his cherished children, Lynn Pearson, Sandra Sweeney, and Audie Alexander, as well as 8 grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren, who were the lights of his life. Throughout his years, Emmett dedicated himself to his craft as a welder at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, where his skill and leadership as a welding supervisor left a lasting mark.
Emmett found great joy in tending to his garden, nurturing life with a patient and generous hand. His love for his family was boundless, and his kindness extended to all who knew him. Emmett was a steadfast friend, always ready to help those in need, often giving selflessly without hesitation. His thoughtful nature and generosity were such that no one left his home without feeling cared for, often departing with a gift or a token of his hospitality.
A service celebrating Emmett's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Holder Wells Funeral Home, 12800 Highway 613, Moss Point, Mississippi. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Emmett will be laid to rest at Grand Bay Cemetery in Alabama. We invite all who knew and loved Emmett to join us in honoring his memory and the legacy he leaves behind.
