Pascagoula, Mississippi
Esther Lorraine Rockwell, née Moore, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Moss Point, Mississippi. Born on February 15, 1936, in Mississippi, she lived a long and meaningful life, marked by her unwavering dedication to family, heartfelt kindness, and steadfast strength.
Esther’s early years were spent in Mississippi, where she completed her high school education, laying the foundation for a life grounded in determination and care. She devoted herself to her role as a homemaker, embracing the responsibilities and joys of nurturing her family with devotion and perseverance. Her commitment to her home was evident in both the warmth she offered and the faith she instilled, shaping the lives of those closest to her.
Esther is remembered most fondly by her loving husband, Joseph Edd Rockwell of 71 years, who stood by her side through life’s journeys. Together, they built a family whose love and respect for one another is a testament to Esther’s spirit. She is survived by her beloved children: daughter Lorie (William) McLelland, and sons Timothy (Jeanie) Rockwell and Brian (Doreen) Rockwell, each of whom carry forward her legacy of integrity and compassion. Also mourning her loss are her dear sister-in-law June Moore, grandchildren Rachel (Sean) Givens, Sheena Daffron, and Chase (April) Rockwell, and Tirena (Squeeky) Anderson; Six Great Grand Children and One Great-Great Grandchild as well as many nephews and nieces.
As Esther is reunited in rest with her parents, Lee and Wilma Moore, and her siblings Francis Moore Jenkins, Margaret Moore Raitt, and Bob Moore who preceded her in death, her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her enduring love, gentle guidance, and quiet strength will continue to inspire and unite her family and friends for generations to come.
Esther Lorraine Rockwell’s life will be honored in the memories shared around family tables, the laughter of grandchildren, and the stories that will be told and retold as a celebration of a life lived with grace and dedication. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
Esther was a devoted member of Three Rivers Assembly of God. She previously served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was also a dedicated Pink Lady, volunteering with the Singing River Hospital Auxiliary. In her personal life, Esther found great joy in cooking, baking, and shopping, sharing her love of good food and fun times with family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
