It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eugene Charles Roche Jr., a devoted family man and proud veteran, who went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born in New York and raised in Pennsylvania, Eugene's early adulthood was defined by his honorable service in the Vietnam War. Following his service, he eventually made his home in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where he met Karen, the love of his life. Together, they built a beautiful life and a devoted marriage that spanned 45 years.

Eugene raised his children with intention and a deep sense of care. His heart for others was perhaps most evident in his home, where he welcomed his brother Darryl and served as his dedicated long-term caregiver. Whether as a father, a husband, or a brother, Eugene was a man who lived his life with purposeful compassion and unwavering support.

Gene's spirit was marked by a tireless curiosity and a "trailblazing" nature. He was a man of diverse passions: a builder of Ninja courses, a soccer coach, a firearms trainer, and a gardener. Whether he was tending to his goats and chickens, lost in the pages of a book, or exploring on horseback, Gene approached the world with a sense of wonder. To those who knew him, he was more than just the sum of his hobbies; he was a collector of stories and a teacher of lessons that will continue to inspire.

Above all, Gene's faith was his anchor. As a devoted Christian, he placed God at the center of his life. Through his membership at Second Chance Ministries, he initiated the Overwatch Program, reflecting a lifelong commitment to service and a deep desire to look out for his community.

Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Althea Mae Davis; his sister, Diane; and his brother, Patrick Domenico. His legacy is carried forward by his wife, Karen Roche; his children, Sarah Christian, Cherish Campbell (Josh), and Noah Roche (Tara); and his siblings, Iris Knerr, Toni Johnson, and Eddie Johnson. He is also survived by a host of cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were his constant source of joy and pride.

Proverbs 18:10 "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe."
