Mrs. Evelyn Geneva Cothran 88, of Escatawpa, MS passed away on February 15,2022 in Pascagoula. Mrs. Cothran was born on February 20,1933 in Hurley, MS. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County.
She cherished her family very much.
She worked and retired from the Moss Point School System as a cafeteria employee. She loved going to garage and yard sales in her spare time. Her favorite meals were Chinese food.
She enjoyed family gatherings and reunions. She was a devoted member of Canaan Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Cothran Sr.,her parents Alamandra and Lena Coleman, her siblings Robert L. Coleman, A.D. Coleman, James "Spoke" Coleman, Howard Coleman and Wilda Furby.
She is survived by her children Patricia (Larry) Rouse, Sue (Bubba) Miller, Earlene (Jeff) Thompson, Debbie (Stan) Cole, Robert Earl (Bonnie) Cothran Jr., and Danny (Bonnie) Cothran. Her sisters Linda Tapper, and Betty Powell.
She will also be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Saturday February 19,2022 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Canaan Assembly of God Church 13602 Hwy 613 Moss Point, MS 39562.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 am from the church sanctuary with Rev. Rodney Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Helena, MS
