Mr. Frank Anthony Balcer, Jr., 81, of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed from this life on Thursday, May 14th, 2020 in Hurley, Mississippi. He was born June 9th, 1938 in Granite City, Illinois to Sidney (Jewell) Daugherty and Bessie (Frank) Balcer. He was later adopted by his stepfather Frank Anthony Balcer, Sr.
Frank was married to his loving wife Lavern Rogers for over 59 years. Frank was a loving father and grandfather. He was always supportive and involved in his children and grandchildren's lives. He enjoyed carpentry, spending time with his grandchildren, and working with several local charities. Frank was retired from Chevron where he worked as a maintenance superintendent, serving for over 30 years, and he was a member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church in Wade.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Lavern Balcer, and his three sons, Frank (Cheryl) Balcer, Paul (Claire) Balcer, and D. Lee (Karen) Balcer. Grandchildren include Sidney Balcer, Hunter Tallent, Justin Wells, Matthew Balcer, Ann Marie (Jacob) Ferrer, Jeffrey Balcer, and Christian Balcer. Frank also leaves behind his sister, Judy Hosto, of St. Louis Missouri, and numerous friends.
The visitation will be Monday May 18,2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church with a limited amount of people allowed in the sanctuary at a time. The graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm in the church cemetery with social distancing due to the Covid 19- Pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, Frank requested that donations be made to Gideons International or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
