Frank Leonard Dixon Jr AKA "Chunks", age 76, of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at his home in Moss Point, Mississippi.

Frank was born November 04, 1949 in White Stone, Virginia, a son of Frank and Thelma Louise Dixon. He married the love of his life, Mary Gentry on January 17, 1970 in Moss Point, MS. Frank was raised Baptist and had been employed as a fisherman. He started out in the crew and worked his way up to Captain at age 24. The youngest Captain there was at that time. He was a very successful Captain!. He loved Jesus and told people about him as often as he could. Frank read his Bible every day. He loved playing the harmonica. He loved to fish. He liked to plant his garden. He was always in the yard his hummingbirds. He took care of his family. Frank was a great writer, writing poems and songs. He loved being a Pap. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were very special to him!

He is survived by his wife Mary Dixon of Moss Point, MS; his brothers Lenny (Ann) Dixon, Dickie Dixon, Bill Dixon; six children, Jennifer Lynn (Scott) Hinkel, Scott Hinkel, Bryan Scott (Esther) Dixon, Kevin Michael (Jenny) Dixon; eleven grandchildren, Chris Gillespie, Jayden (Zane) Gillespie, Heather (Madison) Holland, Summer Gillespie, Infinitee Dixon, Chandler Dixon, Dylan Dixon, Logan Dixon, and Willie Dixon; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends and family.

He is preceded in death by one son-in-law Kelly Gillespie; one sister in law Donna Dixon; one grandson, Seth Tolar; his brothers Donnie Dixon, Robin Dixon; and his parents, Frank Leonard Sr and Thelma Louise Dixon.

Visitation will be Monday, August 3rd, 2026 from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM and Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 3, 2026, 12:00 PM at Ridglea Heights Baptist Church. No Graveside services will be held.
