Gloria Victoria Commerton (Glodic) 93, of Hurley, passed away on December 28, 2021, surrounded by family and caregivers. She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on June 23, 1928, to the late Victoria Glodic and Joseph Glodic. She met the love of her life James (Jim) Commerton the summer of 1945 in Sewaren, NJ and they married on December 7, 1947, and had three children. They celebrated 72 years of marriage in December of 2019. Gloria and Jim moved from New Jersey to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1963 where Gloria became an avid part of the community by volunteering with several local agencies including the Salvation Army, numerous homemakers clubs, and the Jackson County Fair Committee.

Gloria was a prominent member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Hurley, MS and previously a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pascagoula, MS. Gloria was proceeded in death by her husband James H. Commerton, her son James H. Commerton, Jr., her mother Victoria Glodic, her father Joseph Glodic, her sister Anita Perhach and her brother Artie Glodic. She is survived by her daughter Linda Milling (James) of Pascagoula and her son Brian Commerton (Barbara) of Pascagoula. Three grandchildren Lisa Fallon (Rocky), Jason Scott (Leah), and Leslie Tillman (George). She will be missed by her 10 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren and devoted neighbors Ken and Ann Taylor and Ron Elias as well as her beloved church family from St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from 2 pm to 3 pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Main Steet Chapel 4007 Main Street Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will begin at 3 pm from the chapel with Deacon Frank Martin officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Loretta Tanner and all the caregivers of Trusting Hands as well as Singing River Hospice of Light for their care and compassion during Gloria's past few years.
