Harold Austin Morris, born June 1, 1953, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. He was born in Columbus, Georgia, to Thurman and Bertha Morris.
Harold graduated from Lake Wales High School in Lake Wales, Florida, where he was a proud member of The Marching Highlanders Band. In January 1981, the band had the honor of performing in the inaugural parade for President Ronald Reagan.
He continued his education at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, where he was named Assistant Conductor for the university's music department. During his time there, the choir under his direction was invited to perform at the World Symposium in Vienna, Austria-an achievement that reflected his deep passion for music and leadership.
Harold was the owner and operator of Data Processing in Escatawpa, Mississippi, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
A private family memorial was held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, where Harold's life was lovingly celebrated. The service was officiated by Reverend Bobby Morris of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, who did a wonderful job honoring Harold's life and legacy.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deveta Elaine Morris; his stepdaughter, Tori Scorzelli (Richard), and her children Jordan Shotts, Brandon Shotts, and Dalton Shotts; and his stepson, Tony Fisher (Stephanie), and their children Matthew Fisher and Natalie Fisher.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the special support and kindness shown by the community, especially George and Ella Scarbrough, Judy Griffin, Donna Jones, and Bill Cothran.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
