Obituary

Harriet Corinne Cobb, age 97, of Pascagoula Mississippi passed away on 30 March 2025 at home. With her daughter and son-in-law at her side, she departed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born April 13, 1927, in Plymouth Massachusetts to Dr. Harry Briggs and Lucy Chapin Briggs. Harriet lived a large portion of her life in Kingston MA and was a member of Kingston Mayflower Congregational Church since birth. She graduated from Kingston High School (Class of 1945), and the Boston Chandler Secretarial School in 1947. After graduation, she worked as an executive secretary for the National Cranberry Association (Ocean Spray Cranberry Company). She married I. Stanley Cobb on October 17, 1954, continuing to work at Ocean Spray until her children were born. She later worked with her husband at his printing business Pilgrim Publishers. After retiring, they spent four years in England working in the publishing department of the Arab World Ministries mission. They then moved to Minneola Florida and became active members of the Minneola Missionary Alliance Church (now Hillside Community Church) as well as Faith Baptist Church of Clermont FL. Harriet moved in with her daughter in Pascagoula in March 2020.

Harriet was very active in the Mayflower Church and the Minneola Church as a member of the choir, and also as the director, as well as working the financial side of the church. She was a leader in the Girl Scouts. She was also a long-time member (1960's to 1980's) of the Mayflower Chapter (Plymouth MA) of the Sweet Adelines.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley Cobb, her brother Henry and his wife Patricia, as well as her son-in-law Harvey. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Felts (Dickie Jackson), her son Donald (Claire-Lise), her grandchildren Dimitri (Hyang) and Lucas (fianc�e Agla�), her step-grandchildren Raffe (Angela) Felts and Patrick Felts. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews and their families.

The family appreciates the love and care shown by her caregiver Sheryl Shafer. They also appreciate Deaconess Hospice who treated her with love and respect. Harriet had numerous friends, and her family is deeply touched by the love and support of so many.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to Mayflower Church of Kingston MA, First Methodist of Pascagoula or Deaconess Hospice Biloxi. An online memorial service will be held via Zoom on May 10th (details below. A private burial will take place in Kingston Massachusetts at a later date.
