Harvey Calvin Felts, III, age 78, of Pascagoula passed away on 19 December 2022 at his residence. With his beloved wife and sons at his side, he departed peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born February 21, 1944 in New Orleans, LA to Harvey Felts Jr and Shirley King Felts. Harvey lived most of his life in Pascagoula and was a member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church since 1947. He graduated from Pascagoula High School (Class of 1962), and the University of Southern Mississippi in 1967. After graduation, he worked for Brinkman Carpet Distributors, selling carpet in Eastern Texas, and then went to work at Lockheed Martin in Atlanta as a Planner. He returned to Pascagoula to assist his parents with the family business, Felts Jewelers. He helped the business grow to where it became well known throughout the Gulf Coast, and started Harve Ring Company, which sold jewelry to stores and individuals throughout the country and Caribbean.
Harvey was a Charter member of Singing River Yacht Club and an avid sailor who won many racing trophies over the years with his boats, Krugerand and Victoria. Also an avid tennis player, he went with his USTA team to the Regional Finals. After Hurricane Katrina, he took up golf and became a member of Pascagoula Country Club. His golfing buddies knew though, that Harvey loved mowing grass so much that it would many times take priority over a golf game. For many years he enjoyed road and mountain biking, deep sea fishing, and fixing engines and mechanical equipment. He was also a member of the Pascagoula Men's Club.
Harvey will always be remembered by his family and many friends for his dry wit, laughter, satire, spunkiness, fellowship, generosity, and kindness.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Victoria Marie Tucker Felts. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deborah; his children Raffe (Angela) Felts of Mount Holly, NC, Patrick Felts of Charlotte, NC, his grandchildren Tyler Felts and Victoria Felts, his mother-in-law Harriet Cobb, his previous wife Sheri Felts, and his canine companions Gabriel and Star. He leaves behind his godson Robert Felts, his cousins Stephen Felts, T'Al Felts, Paul Felts, Michael Felts, Joseph Felts, and numerous other relatives whom he loved dearly.
The family appreciates all the health care providers from Memorial and Singing River Hospitals, caregiver Sheryl Shafer, Doris Hill, and Hospice of Light who treated him with love and respect. Harvey had numerous friends and his family is so touched by the love and support of so many.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to Eastlawn United Methodist Church or Hospice of Light. The memorial service will be held at Eastlawn United Methodist Church, Pascagoula, Mississippi January 4, 2023 with visitation to begin at 10am, and the service to follow at 12pm, with Pastors Nance Hixon, Eddie Kirby, and Tom Fanning officiating.
