Mrs. Hazel Lois Howard Padgett, 89, of Gautier, Mississippi passed from this life on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at her home in Gautier. She was born on December 20, 1932, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Clinton Dewitt Howard and Birdie Sue Ard Gilkey Howard.
Mrs. Padgett was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed sharing the stories of her youth with her children. She was a good-hearted friend to everyone she met and will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jewel Leon Padgett, two children, Victoria B. Garcia, and John Kirby Padgett, Sr., son-in-law, George Gary Garcia, Sr., and two grandsons, George Gary Garcia, Jr., and John Kirby Padgett, Jr., and her sister, Shirley May Doucte.
Survivors are her children, Stephanie Long, and Michael Kevin Padgett, Sr. Her precious grandchildren, John Christopher Padgett, Leo Padgett, Michael Kevin Padgett, Peter David (Tera) Baines, Jr., Morgan Anne Meek, Tifanie Nicole (Sean) Lawson, Katelynn Marie Lawson, Carleigh Vesti Padgett, and numerous great-grandchildren. Special niece, Jann Harvey.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, MS., 39563. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
