Obituary

Henrietta Ella Overstreet,  passed away at age 88 on April 30, 2014 in Okeechobee, FL at the Okeechobee Health Care Facility where she has resided for the past 10 months.  She was born February 8, 1926, in Battle Creek, NE.   Previously she lived in Moss Point, MS for many years; in 2010,  she was accepted into the home of and cared for by  her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Fred Bennykofer of Okeechobee, FL. Henrietta gave her all in the demanding role of a military wife.  She  volunteered at Christ Lutheran Church, Pascagoula, MS  in various positions, and  throughout her life,  has worked at various department stores.  Her interest and skills were  gardening, canning, sewing, crochet and knitting.  She can be remembered in making clothes for her children and  her daughters' dolls. Henrietta is preceded in death  by her husband, John Henry Overstreet and has been widowed for 25 years.  She is  also preceded in death  by her father and mother, George and Martha Fundum and sister Alma Fundum, all of CA.  She is survived by her  brother, Eugene Fundum, CA,  her sister,  Mary Lou Heberer, NE,  five children;  Herbert Overstreet, GA; Juanita Wallace, MS; Christine Cody, GA; Betty Bennykofer, FL and John Henry Overstreet, Jr, MS, nine grandchildren; Adam Overstreet, GA; Wendy Nakaseko, Japan; John Paul Wallace,  MS; Autumn Norris and Jeremy Roedell, WA; Robert Brown, AL; Susan Aubrey, FL; Laura Smith and Stacy Heffner, MS and  eleven  great grandchildren; Matthew and Kayla Overstreet, GA; Noah Smith and Nathan Roedell, WA, Amia, Cadence, Hailey and Kayla Brown, GA; Donny Smith, MS, Noah and Michael Nakaseko, Japan. Visitation will be at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, MS  on  Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm.                        Funeral services will be held at 10 am on  Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, Pascagoula, MS .  Interment will follow  in Serene Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Research or The Lutheran Hour.Arrangements by Holder-Wells Funeral Home of Moss Point.Online condolences may be shared at www.holderwellsfuneralhome.com
