Mr. Huey Pierce Davis, 79, of Pascagoula, MS was born in Hickory, MS, on July 24, 1934 to Mr. Edgar Davis and Mrs. Lula (Etheridge) Davis. He passed from this life on October 16, 2013 after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
He spent 3 years serving our country in the Air Force and retired from Ingalls Shipyard. His hobbies were playing guitar, woodworking, family genealogy and pizza making. He was most recently a member at Wade Baptist Church and at about 8 years of age, while attending Sunday school at a local church, he realized his need for the Savior, the Lord Jesus. He then taught the Bible at home and at times was a Sunday school teacher himself and was happy to share the Good News of the Gospel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Lula Davis; wife of many years, Mae Davis; youngest son, Woody Davis; two brothers, Esmond Davis and Fred Davis;
He is survived by his sister, Mary (Francis) Hutchinson; children, Brant (Katie) Davis of Dublin, GA and Kim (David) Costello of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Jessica (Shannon) Bryant of Ocean Springs, Evan (Rachel) Nyers of Pascagoula, Haley Davis of Moss Point and Kelly Davis of Dublin, GA; great grandchildren, Ethan Bryant, Evelyn Bryant, Ramsey Nyers and Jordan Orth.
The graveside service will be on October 18, 2013 between 4:30 – 5:00 p.m. and will be held at Machpelah Cemetery.
