Iris Faye Shields

Iris Faye Shields, of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born on May 26, 1941, in Campbell County, Virginia, Iris was raised in a log cabin alongside her twin sister, Iva. Iris and Iva were the youngest of four. All four were born and raised in the same log cabin.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edmond (Bo) Shields; her son, Rodney Shields; her parents, William and Ilene Brooks; and her sisters, Peggy Brooks Dudley and June Brooks Johnson.
She is survived by her loving children Judy Shields Western; Mike (Robin) Shields; Sam (Sis) Shields; Sister, Iva May Brooks Williams; Grandchildren, Jerry (April) Western; Ashley (Kelcey) Perry; Jenna (Brandon) King; Brandi Shields, Traci Shields; Great grandchildren Natalie Western, Hunter (Allie) Western; Dannilyn Western; Breelyn Western; Harper King; Billie King; Wyatt Shields; Chloe Walker; Kelcey Walker; She was also blessed with a great great grandchild Waylon Western.
Iris had a vibrant personality and a love for life's simple joys. She enjoyed shopping, jewelry, and plants. Iris was well known for her impressive shoe collection and her fondness for purses. In true Iris fashion, she would much rather have a new pair of shoes or a beautiful purse than buy groceries or even pay the electric bill (Haha). She never hesitated to treat herself. Her playful spirit and sense of humor brought smiles to those around her.
The family extends a special thanks to Deaconess & Nurse, Angela Dewberry, as well as caregivers Brandi Shields, Traci Shields, Sarah Streett, Shevonne Mercer, and Sarah Vice for their loving care and support.
A special appreciation is given to their lifelong friend, Bro. Rodney Coleman, for his faithful friendship and guidance.
Pallbearers will be Sam Shields, Brandi Shields, Mike Shields, Jerry Western, Hunter Western, and Brandon King
Services for Iris will be held in the chapel of Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main Street, Moss Point, Ms 39563, on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m, followed by services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point, Mississippi.
