Mrs. Irma Virginia Harrell's Obituary
Mrs. Irma Virginia Harrell, 95 of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, in Moss Point. She was born on August 10, 1928, in Jackson County, Mississippi to Chester C. Breland and Laverne N. Rogers Breland Taylor.
Virginia was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Escatawpa Community of Christ Church, and a member and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Anna O'Neill # 37, Moss Point. She enjoyed traveling with her husband with the fifth wheel around the Country. Above all else, Virginia was a faithful servant. She worked tirelessly at the Church's fair booth and later, organized the ladies baking pies. Between the fair booth and pie baking, the Escatawpa Community of Christ Church was built.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cleveland Harrell, and two granddaughters, Heather Noelle Lee, and Leasa Salter. Siblings, Chester "Sonny" (Mazelle) Breland, Frank (Barbara) Breland, Harvey Breland, Terry Breland, Arvis Taylor, and William "Joe" Taylor.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Mary) Harrell, Garry (Coral Ann) Harrell, and Sheila (John) Lee. Five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, brother, Alex Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Escatawpa Community of Christ Church, 4220 Dan Sherman Rd. Moss Point, MS 39563. The funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Elder Billy Graham and Elder Amanda Clark officiating. The interment will be at the Community of Christ Cemetery in Escatawpa. Her grandsons are serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Escatawpa Community of Christ Church Youth Fund.
