Isaac Gerald "I.G. Harrell, at the age of 79, passed away on April 11, 2021. Isaac "Gerald" was born on October 25, 1941, in Lake, MS. to Jack and Hazel Harrell. He was a 1961 graduate of Pascagoula High School. Beginning in 1961, he was employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding for 43 1/2 years as a pipe welder first class, a pipe welding instructor, a nuclear welder, and then a planning engineer. Since his retirement, Gerald has enjoyed fishing, hunting, travelling with his siblings and life partner, yard work, and spending time with family and friends. Gerald will be remembered by loved ones as a loving, caring man who loved to tell stories, jokes, and tease everyone. His family will take comfort in all the memories and stories shared. Gerald did know his Lord and Savior. His family knows that he is in a wonderful, peaceful, and pain-free place with all who have gone before him.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hazel Harrell.
He is survived by his life partner, best friend, and true love of 39 years, Betty Sellers; his son, Isaac Gerald "Buck" (Kim) Harrell; two daughters, Lisa (Russell) Turnage and Ashley (Melande) King; ten grandchildren, Kaylee McKnight, Kendall Lee, Caleb Harrell, Lauren Harrell Franklin, Bailey Feeney, Lindsey Broadus, Nick Broadus, Kyle Turnage, Corey Hill, and Meghann Kendrick; 13 great-grandchildren, Kynsie McKnight, Lillian McKnight, Ryker Lee, Carter Harrell, Liam Franklin, Bayler Feeney, Aiden Turnage, Piper Kendrick, Hailee Kendrick, Harper Kendrick, Sawyer Hill, Grayson Hill, and Kinley Hill; two brothers, Thurman Harrell and Rickey Harrell; two sisters, Janice Harrell Eiland, and Judith Harrell Townsend. Survivors also include his partner's children, and grandchildren who he thought of his own, Patti (Rusty) Brooks, Jay (Tonya) Gilmore, Donavan (Angela) GilmoreMegan (Ali) Brooks, Christian (Brittany) Brooks, Bailey Gilmore, Will and Olive Gilmore.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Cirlot officiating. Burial will be at Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.
