James "Jimmy" Leon Darden, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Born on March 25, 1949, he was a lifelong resident of Kreole, Mississippi, and a Moss Point High School graduate. Jimmy was a member of the Eastside Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his well-loved animals.
In his later years, his kindness and generosity shined through the countless candy, cards, phone calls, and even Easter Biddies he would give to those he loved, especially the children in his life. Jimmy was generous, loyal, and full of love. He will be remembered for his heart he shared with his friends and family.
He truly loved each of them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Darden and Myrtis Iris Butler; sister, Sandra Murphy; brother, William "Billy" Jewell.
He is survived by his brother, Rickie (Mary) Darden, niece, and nephews, Steve (Nikki) Figueiredo, Rachel (Terry) Montgomery, Brandon (Courtney) Figueiredo, and Jason Darden. He also leaves behind his long-time friend, Renee Boyd,
and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends and Church family.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home, 4007 Main St., Moss Point, MS 39563. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Wendell Stork officiating.
The procession to Orange Grove Cemetery will follow the service. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Darden (Honorary), Jesse Smith (Honorary), Charlie Weaver, Brian Stork, Michael Pierce, Mike Pierce, Greg McClain, and Donnie Johnson.
